Cake Stand (Pink Vintage)

I’ve been wanting to buy a cake stand where I can display finger sandwiches and iced cupcakes for our afternoon teas. It’s been a tradition on weekends, while Little C naps after lunch, we throw wide open the French balcony and indulge in some tea, scones and little cakes. We’ll wrap up the week, talk family budget, plan the week ahead and check our family schedule. It’s a lovely time I always look forward to hence I want to set it up as prettily as possible.

When I saw the most affordable cupcake stand at IKEA, I almost bought it but soon realized I didn’t have the space to store it for 6 days a week when not in use. I found the answer at Harvey Nichols homeware section. A few days before our pre-Valentine party, we left the gentlemen at Starbucks to let them have endless talk about work and diamond blades while we ladies went shopping for party decors and completed the ingredients. We finished shopping early (it’s an advantage when you stick to your shopping list hihi) and decided to check out Harvey Nichols for some chinaware. We found this pretty cake stand made of pink vintage card.

It is sturdy and easy to assemble. The delightful print adds some vintage chic glamour to afternoon tea.

I bought three pieces because hey, it’s this little luxuries that makes life a little more interesting.
